Induction
Final touches to the Clinical Research In Practice Induction course completed today, nearly ready for dissemination & implementation! You should soon see the course being delivered locally as half days or in bite size pieces.
This course was developed from feedback received at the ‘Induction’ roundtable session during the 2014 SRNCN conference; there was a perceived lack of availability in some areas of any formalised induction programme for Clinical Research Nurses.
The SRNCN have developed this one day course for nurses new to clinical research nursing or those who wish to refresh or reinforce their knowledge and skills. The content builds upon topics delivered as part of national GCP training and aims to provide those new to clinical research nursing practical advice on how to implement GCP and conduct clinical research. A prerequisite of attending this course is that GCP training and local induction or orientation has been completed.
The pilot course was ran on 2nd November 2016 for a handful of nurses from throughout Scotland and the feedback was generally positive. We are in the process of updating the course to take on board the feedback and the toolkit for running the course will be available to all Lead Research Nurses in Scotland to use in their own area.
