Research Department acceptability of future trials in ARDS

Trials in the Intensive Care setting often pose challenges to researchers, resulting in difficulties with recruitment. Having a clear understanding of how a proposed protocol would be acceptable to local research teams is a key step in ensuring any future trial is likely to be successful.

Using an online survey, INSTAR Study Team would like to discuss with you the proposed protocol for the planned future INSTAR (Inhaled Steroids in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) trial and understand your opinions on key parts of the trial. INSTAR Study Team are specifically interested in the views of those supporting research, rather than clinicians and Principal Investigators, so we can understand the impact of how the protocol will operate in real life.

The survey can be completed online here and will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. All data will be held securely in a password protected system and only exported to computers on the University of Aberdeen network. No personal data will be requested, unless you ask for further details of the future study, in which case we will ask for contact details. This data will be held for no longer than 5 years. This survey has been reviewed by the College of Life Sciences and Medicine’s Ethics Review Board at the University of Aberdeen.
