Terms of reference for steering group

Aims
The Scottish Research Nurse, Midwife & Coordinators Network aims to provide a communication forum whereby research nurses, midwifes, co-ordinators and others working in the field of Clinical Research can network together in an open and constructive environment.

to influence practice both locally and nationally on issues relating to research and clinical trials

develop links with existing network’s/forums

promote a social media profile presence

be recognised as a group that represents research nurses at a national level
Membership of Steering Group
Representation from Clinical Research nursing/midwifery staff and other groups.
The Chair and Secretary/Treasurer of the group will be chosen by the steering group and the position will be reviewed every two years.

Frequency of Meetings
Meetings shall occur 3 times a year and additional extra-ordinary meetings may be called in relation to specific events, e.g. conference.

Attendance at Meetings
Ideally members or representatives from each region who are deputising, are expected to attend 2 meetings per year or evidence active participation remotely.

Running of meetings:
There will be an agreed standing agenda with additional items being submitted, at a minimum of, one week prior to each scheduled meeting.
The agenda and supporting papers will be circulated to the group one week prior to each scheduled meeting.
The draft minutes and action tracker will be circulated no more than 2 weeks after each meeting and formally approved at the next scheduled meeting.
Review:
The steering group will review the relevance and value of their work and the terms of reference
